Planting and site maintenance

Our planting events help with regeneration efforts along the creek to support biodiversity of flora and fauna. We use a range of local indigenous plants such as grasses, groundcovers and shrubs, along with trees. We plant in the cooler months to give plants their best chance to get established.

These events are also a chance to get to know different sections of the creek with Merri Creek Management Committee's knowledgeable bush crews on hand to answer your questions.

A regular get together, Woody Weed Whacking, is removing Gorse from Bababi Marning (Cooper St Grasslands) in Campbellfield and Galada Tamboore in Campbellfield.

While many events are on Sundays, the Wednesday Volunteers do planting and site maintenance on Wednesdays.

Our Events calendar lets you know what’s happening and we also post events through social media a week or so prior.
