On Wednesday 24 June, we will be returning to Ngarri-djarrang Grassland in Reservoir, where we have planted out the gravel beds bordering the grassland in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

This is a Merri Creek Management Committee (MCMC) event led by MCMC Ecological Restoration Program staff in collaboration with FoMC Wednesday Volunteers.

Site information and activities:

Ngarri-djarrang Grassland is considered of state significance for conservation due to its high diversity of native flora including endangered plants and communities. We will be planting into the gravel garden beds bordering the grassland. The planting will extend areas the Wednesday Volunteers have planted over the last three years. Our efforts will help to reduce weeds entering the grassland and showcase some the unique plants occurring along the Merri.

To help with planning please email admin@mcmc.org.au and let them know if you expect to attend.

Please bring water, sunscreen and a hat. It's important that you wear suitable protective clothing: long sleeves, long pants and enclosed shoes. We also encourage you to bring insecticide and familiarise yourself with preventative measures for the Buruli Ulcer.

We will finish work around 12 midday.

MCMC will supply clean hand tools and gloves; however, you are welcome to bring your own.

Please don't attend if you are feeling unwell, or have cold or flu-like symptoms.

Any children (under 18) attending must at all times be in the company of, and under the direct supervision of, their parent or guardian.

In the event of extreme weather, please check your emails for any cancellation. (A little bit of rain doesn't count!)
