Wednesday Volunteers - Friends of Merri Creek

We will meet at the eastern end of Patullos Lane in Somerton.    

This end of Patullos Lane is a 200 m unsealed graded road suitable for all types of vehicles. 
Parking for the event will be in the reserve at the end of the lane behind the management gate.
MCMC staff will be present to assist.

Site information:
Situated in the middle reaches of the Merri Creek, this area is home to Eastern Grey Kangaroos, Swamp Wallabies, and provides vital habitat for threatened fauna and plant communities.  The site supports populations of vulnerable Golden Sun Moth and endangered Escarpment Shrubland.

Activities:  
Our activities will focus on improving the stream-bank and restoring the Escarpment Shrubland vegetation at Patullos Lane.  We will be removing woody weeds, Hawthorn and Sweet Briar, and also be removing old tree guards from shrub plantings.
